Responsibilities
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “A lanthanide tool box
to elucidate the Zinc finger and the dimerisation mechanism of the EBV pocket for
imaging and tumour inhibition”. He/She will be required to:
(a) perform synthetic research work as required for the project;
(b) perform purification and analytical analyses;
(c) assist in the compilation of large data reports and the formatting of written reports;
and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader, Head of Department or
their delegates.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
(a) an honours degree in Chemistry or an equivalent qualification;
(b) at least one year’s experience in research techniques in Chemistry-related areas;
(c) at least one year’s organic synthesis experience as research assistant with documented
evidence such as project dissertation or research paper;
(d) strong analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills; and
(e) a good command of both written and spoken English.
Preference will be given to those who have knowledge of advance synthetic skills, nuclear
magnetic resonance (NMR), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
